Combining cyanotypes and self-portraiture in Looking for Freedom I look at both the impact racial and misogynistic traumas have had on my body. The cyanotypes on fabric represent my frozen dissociated self floating through the world, concealing a true grounded, powerful and even joyful self. I juxtapose these ghostly images with shots of myself dancing portraying an imagined freedom from these traumas.
